Our purpose at New Prospect United Methodist Church is to make Disciples of Jesus Christ.
Naturally we hope that you will consider worshipping with us on Sunday. We are beginning a new worship service called "First Light" on August 8, at 8:38 am. The 8:38 is a reference to Romans 8:38 where the Apostle Paul begins to tell us that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ. There will be a "coffee and juice" social at 9:30 am, followed by Sunday school, and then the 11:00 am service. Both services are traditional with blended music selections.
In life there are many "bumps". Sometimes the bumps can be severe and even continuous. We wouldn't say, "I could never have made it through without God in my life". We would say, "I wouldn't want to make it through without God in my life". Experiencing God is real, and we truly are "Discovering Peace and Purpose in Christ"!
Many are going through the bumps of life without God. Life molds us. Along the way events can cause hurts in us. Also careers, raising children, and pursuing hobbies may have been fulfilling, but are no longer. You may be experiencing a diminishing fulfillment of your life? Possibly you are seeking meaning and purpose, because life has changed for you! Perhaps you are simply sensing the need to "give back"? We have sought that meaning and purpose! We have felt the hurts! In the fellowship of this church we have found forgiveness and peace in Jesus Christ by experience. We have found purpose that does not diminish. We are learning to care and to give of ourselves to help those that cannot help themselves. These changes are made through relationship with God and each other. The changes are God's work in us.
If you are seeking peace and purpose in your life, then we hope you will visit us. You will truly find us accepting and pleased for you to "give us a try". We have made a commitment to funding community, regional, and international hands on mission work. We place emphasis on funding so that all can experience Christ by caring and helping as they are a part of something far greater.
Maybe you would just like to meet and talk? I'll be at Gary Pirkle Park in Sugar Hill at 8:00 am walking on Monday and Wednesday mornings. I'll also be at IHOP near Home Depot at 8:00 am on Tuesday mornings. Please visit my Facebook page, because on occasion I'll be taking a "day trip" to the mountains and other places. You are invited to come along! Finally, my email is pastorsteve@npumc.org.
May God bless,
Steve
